🗺️ How to Update Your Google Business Profile Information
Your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is one of the most important tools for local SEO. Keeping your information up to date helps customers find you more easily and improves your visibility in Google Search and Google Maps.
🔐 Step 1: Log In to Your Google Account
-
Sign in using the Google account that manages your business profile.
💡 If you’re not sure which email was used, check your last GBP report or contact support@tkinternetmarketing.com for assistance.
🧭 Step 2: Access Your Business Profile
-
After signing in, you’ll see your Google Business Profile Manager dashboard.
-
If you manage multiple locations, select the business you’d like to edit.
-
You can also access your listing directly by typing your business name into Google while logged in — an Edit Profile panel will appear in the search results.
✏️ Step 3: Update Your Business Information
From the dashboard or edit panel, click Edit Profile to make updates such as:
-
Business Name – Must match your real-world business name.
-
Category & Services – Select the most accurate primary category and add key services (e.g., “Digital Marketing,” “SEO Services,” etc.).
-
Description – Use clear, keyword-rich content about what you offer.
-
Hours of Operation – Include accurate hours, including holiday updates.
-
Phone Number – Ensure it’s consistent with your website and local listings.
-
Website Link – Add or verify your main website URL.
-
Address or Service Area – If you serve clients in specific cities, list those areas.
📸 You can also upload new photos, logos, and cover images to keep your profile looking professional and active.
📍 Step 4: Manage Posts and Updates
-
In your profile dashboard, select Add Update or Add Post.
-
Choose from options like What’s New, Offers, or Events.
-
Add a short message, image, or link — this helps keep your listing fresh and engaging.
-
Click Publish to post your update instantly.
💡 Regular posts improve engagement and can boost your visibility in local results.
🧮 Step 5: Verify and Monitor Changes
-
Some edits (like address or business name) may require Google verification.
-
You’ll receive an email or postcard with a verification code if needed.
-
Once verified, your updates will appear on Google Search and Maps within a few minutes to a few hours.
🔍 You can track insights like searches, calls, and direction requests under the Performance tab.
